The Basics
What exactly is a Poorly Drawn Boop portrait?
You send us a photo of your pet.
We take their adorable little face, questionable personality, and general chaotic energy — and turn it into an intentionally poorly drawn portrait.
It won't be realistic.
It won't be elegant.
But hopefully, it'll be extremely them.
How fast will I get my portrait?
Digital portraits are usually delivered by the next day.
Once your poorly drawn masterpiece is ready, we'll send it straight to your email.
Physical prints take additional time for printing and shipping.
Is this a digital product or a physical product?
We offer both.
Digital Portrait:
You receive high-resolution digital files by email. Nothing will be physically shipped.
Printed Portrait:
We'll print your custom artwork on fine art paper and ship it to your door, framed or unframed depending on the option you choose.
Make sure you're ordering the version you actually want before checking out. Your wall will thank you.
What files will I receive with a digital portrait?
You'll receive high-resolution PNG and JPG files of your custom portrait.
They're perfect for printing, framing, sharing online, turning into memes, or proudly displaying to surprise your friends.
Ordering Your Portrait
How do I order?
It's painfully simple:
Choose how many pets you want in the portrait.
Upload a clear photo of each pet.
Add their name if you'd like it included.
Place your order.
We poorly draw them.
Then your masterpiece will be delivered to your email once it's finished.
Can I have more than one pet in one portrait?
Absolutely.
You can include up to 5 pets in a single portrait.
Just select the number of pets you want when ordering and upload a clear photo of each one.
I have several pets. Can I order separate portraits?
Yep.
If you'd like each pet to have their own individual portrait, simply add a separate 1-pet portrait to your cart for each pet.
If you'd rather have everyone awkwardly squeezed into one glorious family portrait, choose the multi-pet option instead.
Do you only draw dogs and cats?
Nope.
Dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, horses, reptiles, guinea pigs — if you call it your pet, we'll give it our best poorly drawn attempt.
We are willing to make questionable artistic decisions for almost any species.
Can you draw humans?
Not right now.
For the moment, Poorly Drawn Boop is a pet-only disaster zone.
Your Pet Photo
What kind of photo should I upload?
The better we can see your pet, the better we can ruin them.
For the best result, upload a photo that is:
Clear and reasonably high quality
Bright enough to see your pet's features
Showing your pet's full face
Taken fairly close to your pet
Not heavily filtered
Not blurry
A straight-on or slightly angled photo usually works best.
Can I upload a group photo?
We strongly recommend uploading one clear photo of each pet separately.
That makes it much easier for us to see who's who and capture the weird little details that make each pet recognizable.
What if my photo isn't perfect?
Don't panic.
Your photo doesn't need to look like it came from a professional studio.
A normal phone photo is usually totally fine as long as your pet's face and important features are clearly visible.
If we genuinely can't work from your photo, we'll contact you.
Should I upload more than one photo?
One good photo is usually enough.
If there is something especially important about your pet's markings, ears, tail, expression, or general weirdness, an additional reference photo may help when the order form allows it.
Your Poorly Drawn Masterpiece
Will the portrait look exactly like my photo?
Recognizable?
Yes.
Exactly the same?
Absolutely not. That would defeat the entire point.
Our portraits are intentionally awkward, imperfect, weird, and poorly drawn.
We preserve the recognizable features and personality of your pet while translating them into the Poorly Drawn Boop style.
Can I request a specific drawing style?
Poorly Drawn Boop portraits are created in our signature intentionally bad drawing style.
Because consistency is part of the fun, we generally don't accept requests to completely change the illustration style.
Collapsible row
Can you add my pet's name?
Yes.
You can include your pet's name when placing your order.
If you'd rather keep the portrait text-free, that's fine too.
Please double-check the spelling before submitting your order. We may be bad at drawing, but we'd rather not be bad at spelling.
Can I ask for special details?
You can tell us about important identifying features of your pet when appropriate — unusual markings, missing ears, funny teeth, and other things that make them uniquely them.
However, we may not be able to accommodate major custom scene changes or requests that significantly change the Poorly Drawn Boop style.
Can I print my digital portrait myself?
Absolutely.
Your digital files are high-resolution and designed to be printable.
Print it at home, take it to a local print shop, frame it, put it on your desk, or create a tiny shrine to your pet.
We won't judge.
Can I turn my portrait into a tattoo?
Yes.
Can I use my portrait commercially?
Your custom portrait can be used for your own personal projects and small personal/commercial uses.
However, purchasing a portrait does not transfer ownership of the Poorly Drawn Boop brand, branding elements, website artwork, or overall illustration style.
Prints & Shipping
What is the difference between the digital portrait and the printed portrait?
The digital portrait is delivered electronically.
The printed portrait is physically produced and shipped to you.
Both use your custom Poorly Drawn Boop artwork — one lives on your screen, the other gets to embarrass your pet on your wall.
Does the printed portrait include a digital copy?
Please check the product description for the exact files and physical items included with your selected product.
Different product options may include different deliverables.
How long do physical prints take?
Physical products require production time before shipping.
Delivery time depends on your location and the shipping method available at checkout.
Digital portrait delivery and physical product delivery are separate timelines.
Will I receive tracking?
When tracking is available for your order, you'll receive shipping information by email after your physical product has been dispatched.
Changes & Refunds
Can I cancel my order?
Because custom portraits may enter production shortly after purchase, cancellation may not be possible once work has begun.
Please contact us as soon as possible if you need help with an order.
Can I change my order after placing it?
Because every portrait is custom-made, work may begin shortly after your order is placed.
Please double-check your uploaded photo, number of pets, names, and other order information before completing checkout.
If you notice a mistake immediately after ordering, contact us as soon as possible. We can't guarantee changes once work has started.
Can I request revisions?
Poorly Drawn Boop portraits are intentionally imperfect.
The weird proportions, questionable lines, and slightly ridiculous expression are features — not bugs.
For that reason, we don't offer revisions simply because you'd prefer a different artistic interpretation.
However, if we made a clear mistake with something you provided — for example, misspelling your pet's name — contact us and we'll take a look.
Can I return a digital portrait?
Digital portraits are personalized digital products and cannot normally be returned once completed and delivered.
If something is genuinely wrong with your order, contact us and we'll do our best to make things right.
What if I simply don't like how ugly my portrait is?
This one's tricky.
The portrait is supposed to be ugly.
That's literally the business model.
Because every portrait is custom-made in the Poorly Drawn Boop style, differences in artistic interpretation aren't considered defects.
Please take a look at our examples before ordering so you know exactly what kind of beautiful disaster you're signing up for.
Still Confused?
That's okay. Our drawings are confusing too.
If your question isn't answered here, head over to our Contact page and send us a message.
We'll help you out.
Probably more professionally than we draw.
